Speaking at Labour party conference, she will urge members to stand proudly on Labour’s record in government and to organise to change Britain for good, warning against the threat of Nigel Farage in Downing Street. Citing Labour’s achievements so far, she is expected to say: “Conference, tomorrow it will be four weeks since we extended free school meals to all on Universal Credit, six months since we ended the two child limit. "Conference, I am so proud that that choice, that Labour choice, has lifted around one hundred and fifty thousand children out of poverty in just that time. “Bringing hope to their families, Bringing chances to their futures, And bringing, as Andy Burnham says, as our Prime Minister, Labour's Prime Minister says, bringing hope back to Britain.” Earlier this year Reform committed to plunging kids into poverty by restoring the two-child benefit limit in full, just weeks after Robert Jenrick, Reform's Treasury spokesman, accidentally voted to end the cruel cap. Brought in by the Tories, figures show around 1.6million children in larger families have been impacted by it. Turning her fire on Reform, Ms Phillipson will tell members the next election is about the “sort of country” Britain will be. She is expected to say: “The next election won’t just be a choice between Labour and the Right. It‘s bigger than that. It’s a choice between hope and fear. “We’ve seen what Reform believe. We’ve seen how they want to peel back the laws that protect our rights, our lives, our families, our chances. This month, we’ve seen how they make policy. When the crypto billionaires pay up, they don’t hang about. They change the line. They have shown who they really are, they will sell your family’s security for their own advantage. “Conference, I shudder at the thought, at the thought of what a Reform government would do, when Vladimir Putin gets in touch.”
