Prince Harry and Meghan in new security scare as men with backpacks spotted at Archie and Lilibet's school Two young men carrying backpacks, who are believed to be international paparazzi, are understood to have been seen by both private security and school staff near Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's school Prince Harry and Meghan have branded two international paparazzi who were seen looking into the grounds of their children's school as extraordinarily reckless and accused them of an unacceptable intrusion into their privacy. Two young men carrying backpacks are understood to have been seen by both private security and school staff walking the perimeter of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s school, stopping at various points and looking into the grounds. They were initially seen separately and were subsequently observed together before returning to a white van, which police later established was a rental vehicle, with officers later determining they were international photographers. A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: “The decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this way around a school is extraordinarily reckless. “There is a world of difference between legitimate media activity and photographers walking the perimeter of a school, stopping to look into the grounds and monitoring children as they go about their day. It is concerning enough that certain European paparazzi appear unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school. “But to behave in this manner in these particular circumstances, and so soon after the incident at RAF Fairford, demonstrates an extraordinary lack of judgment. “Whatever photographs they may have been seeking, this was not only an unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children; it was an irresponsible and ill-considered way to conduct themselves in the vicinity of a school.” It comes just weeks after Archie and Lilibet changed schools following another security scare. The children aged seven and five, had only spent two days at their original school at the start of the term, meeting classmates and settling in, before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reluctantly decided to withdraw them.Sources close to the couple stressed that there was no problem with the school itself, with concerns instead focused on the practicalities and security of getting the children there and back each day.The small private security team was put under pressure due to heavy traffic in the area and the distance between the school and the family’s current home. While the security team did perform a recce of the school run to assess timings and potential threats, the practice run took place during the school holidays and therefore did not account for the increase of traffic during term time.A friend of the couple told HELLO!: “It’s a real shame, because they absolutely adored the school, the kids and their parents.“It was perfect for them in every way and the children really enjoyed their time there. They really wanted to make it work, but they had to make a difficult decision based on the fact that the team couldn’t make the school run operationally secure.”
