Ally McCoist issues Celebrity Traitors come-and-get-me plea before new series of BBC hit Rangers icon Ally McCoist has delivered a message ahead of the new series of Celebrity Traitors starting on the BBC Scottish football icon Ally McCoist has issued a come-and-get-me plea to the producers of Celebrity Traitors. Rangers legend McCoist, 64, is a regular on the punditry circuit for TNT Sports and talkSPORT after calling time on his career in 2001. The former goalscorer has turned down offers to star on other well-known reality shows in recent times. However, McCoist says he would love the chance to star on the hit BBC show, which is back for a second series on Thursday night. Comedian Alan Carr won the series last year as the last remaining Traitor, ultimately winning £87,500 for his chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK. McCoist told told talkSPORT Bet: "Would I go on Celebrity Traitors. Aye, absolutely. The family and I love watching it. My only issue would be keeping a straight face, but if Alan Carr can manage it, there's hope for the rest of us! So this is my come-and-get-me plea to Celebrity Traitors, I'm when you are." McCoist has heavily flirted with appearing on reality TV, with the ex-striker almost appearing on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here on three occasions. The Rangers hero turned down the show in 2019, 2022 and 2024. Explaining why he snubbed the show in 2022, the father-of-five said: “I'm not a fan of cockroaches.” He added: "The bit where you jump out of the helicopter or plane at the start - I'd like to do that. But then the rest is downhill. You don't really know until you're there, but I actually think being in the coffin with the rats and snakes - from where I'm sitting right now - I don't think that would bother me that much." He has also explained how his wife Vivian, and his children, were so annoyed when he turned down the chance to appear in 2019, they stopped speaking to him. JOIN US ON FACEBOOK! They are going to school and they are getting it off their pals." Speaking after Harry Redknapp won the show in 2018, he added: “My wife is not giving a monkey's about me eating spiders and earwigs, she is just wanting a two stretch in that Versace hotel. It's the biggest thing we watch as a family, it's brilliant entertainment. Harry was fantastic last year.” McCoist did say, however, that he would love to be asked to take part in Channel 4's Celebrity Hunted, a show where contestants attempt to evade capture for 14 days from some of the world's best investigators. Speaking on Talksport, McCoist, 62, said: "Celebrity Hunted is when they drop you off somewhere and then you're off and running and they try and track you. I would love that. I would be right up for it. I can't tell people my strategy on air but I think I would be alright." The new series of Celebrity Traitors will see the likes of Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, Coronation Street legend Julie Hesmondhalgh, Little Mix star Leigh Anne Pinnock and Hollywood icons Michael Sheen and Richard E.
