Tesco issues urgent recall alert as customers told 'stop using it' The supermarket says the item poses a risk of injury Tesco has urged its customers to stop using one of its products after a recall notice was issued. The supermarket says anyone with the affected item can get a refund. Its F&F Glass Latte Mug has a risk of burns and injuries as it may shatter during use. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said Tesco has recalled the product due to the risk it poses. It said: "The product presents a risk of burns and injuries as it may shatter during use. If the glass mug breaks while containing a hot beverage, consumers could be burned by the hot liquid or injured by sharp glass fragments. "The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005." The OPSS added: "The product has been recalled from end users by Tesco. If you have purchased the product, stop using it immediately and return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required. "For more information, please access the Tesco website at: Tesco recall or contact Tesco Customer Services on 0800 248 123." The mug was on sale from September 2025 to August 2026. It is described as a tall glass latte mug with a curved handle. Recalled Tesco product Tesco F&F Glass Latte Mug - Barcode: 05057967613311 - Sales period: September 2025 to August 2026 Tesco said: "As a precautionary measure, Tesco is recalling all batches of its F&F Home Glass Latte Mug purchased between September 2025 to August 2026 inclusive. "This is due to a manufacturing issue that may cause the glass mug to break during normal use, posing a risk of injury." It added: "No other Tesco products are affected by this recall. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused." The recall comes just days after Sainsbury's urged its customers to stop using one of its products. The supermarket has recalled three handbag styles after a serious chemical risk was identified. The TU Tote Shopper Bags contain excessive concentrations of phthalates. The OPSS said: "Phthalates may harm the health of children, potentially causing damage to the reproductive system. The products do not meet the requirements of the REACH Enforcement Regulations 2008." Sainsbury's said: "Sainsbury’s is recalling the above products due to excessive concentrations of phthalates, which pose a chemical safety risk. Prolonged exposure to phthalates may be harmful to human health. "As a result, the products do not meet Sainsbury’s safety requirements. The products were sold through selected Sainsbury's stores, the Tu website and the Argos website. "We are asking customers who have purchased any of these items to stop using them and return them to their local Sainsbury’s store for a full refund.
