Nana Patekar dead: Award-winning Bollywood actor dies suddenly age 75 Doctors attempted to save the award-winning actor for around 45 minutes before he was pronounced dead after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home Award-winning bollywood actor, Nana Patekar, has died suddenly at age 75. The actor and filmmaker suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa before being rushed to hospital. Patekar was at home with his nephew Prasad and had been complaining of a headache since the following evening. He was later found unconscious and rushed to hospital, where doctors claimed to attempt to save him for around 45 minutes. However, the 75-year-old was sadly declared dead at 5.20am. Patekar's son, Malhar Patekar, was in Pune and has left for Goa, according to sources. The actor was born on January 1, 1951, in Maharashtra. He has won three National Film Awards and is known for his ability to portray complex and unconventional characters. Patekar was known for his work in films such as Natsamrat, Wajood, Parinda, Ab Tak Chhappan and Yeshwant, among others. Most recently, Patekar was seen in a cameo in Subedaar. The film featured stars including Anil Kapoor, Radhika Madan and Saurabh Shukla and was released on Prime Video. Following news of his death, several actors and those in the film industry, including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Khushbu Sundar and Riteish Deshmukh, have expressed grief over his passing. Board of Control for Cricket in India Vice President Rajeev Shukla has remembered the actor as: “An exceptionally compassionate human being." The Vice President also praised Patekar's acting, as well as his commitment to social service and efforts to transform lives, in a post on X. He said: "Beyond the world of films, his selfless commitment to social service and his efforts to transform lives have touched countless people. May his soul rest in eternal peace. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers." Patekar spent time around farming and social work outside of film; a contrast to the fiery actor that fans had come to know.
