Public transport in Kramatorsk has been suspended in the wake of the attack, Kramatorsk City Council said. At least 12 people were killed and 19 were injured after a Russian strike hit public buses in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, authorities said on Thursday. The strike occurred in the city of Kramatorsk, where public transport has since been suspended, according to the Kramatorsk City Council. "Once again, the Russians have struck a location where there is definitely no military target. A public bus. Civilian transport. People who were simply going about their business," the council wrote in a post on Telegram. The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office said the attack took place at around 10 am local time and involved two buses. Vadym Filashkin, the regional governor, has expressed his sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who were killed in the strike and said authorities were working to determine the full extent of the damage. "I urge everyone who is still in the Donetsk region to evacuate to safer parts of Ukraine," he added. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that two bodies had also been found following a drone strike on a store in the capital's Solomianskyi district on Thursday. Two people were also injured in the strike on the four-storey building, he added. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Earlier on Thursday, Klitschko reported that one person had died and 11 had been injured in Russian attacks on Kyiv. Russia launched 142 drones at Ukraine overnight, per Ukraine's air force. "According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 am, air defences had shot down or neutralised 126 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerber types, as well as other types of drones," the force said in a post on social media, adding that strikes were recorded at seven locations.
