When CH Robinson Worldwide, the largest freight broker in North America, announced on Monday that it agreed to buy RXO, the third-largest broker, for $5.8 billion, it wasn’t just the size of the companies that caught investors’ attention. In an industry not always associated with bleeding edge technology, CH Robinson has stood out among freight peers for its savvy AI adoption that is changing its operations. “We are an industrial company that are getting AI benefits, and I think we’ve been under the radar,” Dave Bozeman, CH Robinson’s CEO, told investors at a technology conference last year. “Today we’re no longer under the radar.”
