For anyone who uses their tablet for both entertainment and the likes of emails, web browsing and online shopping, Amazon’s new line-up may well be of interest – particularly Android users or anyone open to making the switch from Apple. The tech giant is updating and replacing its keenly priced Fire tablets – at the budget end of the market, features wise – and replacing them with Amazon Alexa Tablets, designed to compete with Apple’s iPads. There are eight and 11-inch models, but it’s the 12-inch Alexa Pro that has caught my eye. While Amazon is pushing the AI capabilities (of which more later), it’s the matte screen that allows reading the likes of e-books, emails – or dare we say it, The Telegraph digital edition – in bright light much easier (in a bigger format than squinting at a smartphone).
