Azerbaijan is expanding its international energy portfolio through renewable projects, strategic partnerships and new infrastructure, as it seeks to strengthen energy security and connect regional markets with Europe. Azerbaijan is expanding its international energy portfolio through renewable projects, strategic partnerships and infrastructure linking regional and European markets. Speaking on Business Horizons, Elmir Musayev, General Director of SOCAR Green, outlined plans for more than 1.5 gigawatts of renewable capacity under development. Projects include solar and wind power, battery storage and the Black Sea submarine cable. On the ground, Fagan Abdurahmanov, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency, explained how the Gobustan Solar Power Plant converts solar radiation into electricity and feeds it into the national grid.
