Samoa Joe will be headed for Clockwork Carnage after he defeated Jack Perry in a qualifying match at Grand Slam France on Tuesday night’s special episode of "Dynamite." Perry gave Joe everything he had in the match.
Perry was trying to go to the top rope toward the end of the match when Joe caught him with a kick to the head. Joe put Perry into the Muscle Buster, slammed him down and pinned him for the victory.
Later that night, Ospreay successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Kazuchika Okada. It guaranteed that he would keep his spot in the Clockwork Carnage match for WrestleDream.
"Speedball" Mike Bailey will go up against Ring of Honor Pure champion Lee Moriarty for another spot in the match. The contest will be aired on Saturday’s "Collision" as part of AEW’s Grand Slam France event. Tune in because I’m not going to give you spoilers here.
Ospreay said the crux of Clockwork Carnage blends the Casino Gauntlet with an iron man match.
"It’s the ultimate endurance test for any pro wrestler," he told AEW’s Renee Paquette during Grand Slam France. "It’s going to give seven opportunities to seven worthy contenders."

AEW announced Clockwork Carnage over the weekend.
Eight wrestlers will enter the match and one will have to make it through two stages to be the winner. Here’s how it will work, according to AEW.
Two randomly selected wrestlers will start the match. Every three minutes, another randomly selected wrestler will enter the fray. At that point, any competitor who is pinned or submits is eliminated until all eight wrestlers have entered the match.
Once the eighth wrestler has entered the match, all of the remaining wrestlers will enter a 15-minute scoring period. Every pinfall or submission scores one fall during those 15 minutes of action. When the time expires, the wrestler with the most falls will be declared the winner.
WrestleDream is set for Oct. 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
