Celebrity Traitors 2026 live: Hannah Fry's big mistake as Miranda Hart turns Miss Marple
WARNING: Contains spoilers! Richard E Grant was 'annihilated' at the show's first Round Table - closely followed by Myha'la, with three stars marked out for murder tonight
Celebrity Traitors star Richard E Grant's brief but explosive time on the show is over - admitting that he had managed to "check mate" himself in a spectacular show first.
His replacement in the turret, Professor Hannah Fry, appears to have adopted her predecessor's bungling attitude to the game - making a series of errors in her first hours wearing the green cloak. Miranda Hart has turned Miss Marple and appears to have rumbled her already.
But not soon enough. As the episode ended we said goodbye to teary Industry star Myha'la after her wink to Richard sealed her fate - at least in the eyes of Julie Hesmondhalgh.
We left the series with yet another cliffhanger, as the Traitors plotted to murder again with them marking out James Blunt, Bella Ramsey and Sebastian Croft.
Key Events
Myha'la reflects on missed opportunity
Banished Traitors star Myha'la says in an 'alternate universe' she could have easily won the show with Richard E. Grant.
Speaking after her exit from the castle, the Industry actress, 30, said if BBC producers had made some different choices, she could have seen herself getting to the bitter end with Richard by her side.
She said: "I'm annoyed that Richard couldn't stay in because I feel like he could have brought me to the turret and I would have let him win.
"I would have gladly led him to glory! There’s an alternate universe in which he and I get to the final."
The actress said the two became 'immediately' chloe and said they were like 'twin flames' in the game.
Sadly, Richard's spark was over far too soon as he became the first Traitor to be kicked out as soon as the Faithfuls had the opportunity to banish.
James Blunt shower scenes send viewers into frenzy
Like many buff-bodied Traitors hunks before him... Tom Daley... Freddie Fraser... James Blunt stepped up to take on the pensive shower cutaway scene in this year's series.
Viewers were left in hysterics by James' take - thoughtfully scrubbing himself in a very awkward manner while donning a shower cap - all while he puzzling whether he'd be next for murder.
Fans took to X to share their excitement at the scenes.
"Not James Blunt in the shower!!!" cried one.
Others soon chimed in:
"James Blunt with a shower cap and huge brush was just not on my 2026 bingo card."
"Can only assume that James Blunt is taking his first ever shower and is more of a bath man."
"All of these shower scenes from previous seasons have nothing on James Blunt and his haircap and scrubber."
Fans are hoping it doesn't mean the end for the British Army Captain. In last year's Celebrity edition, poor Tom Daley was murdered hours after he stripped off.
If we've learned anything it's that you can be too squeaky clean when it comes to the Traitors.
Miranda Hart has a brain
Thankfully, Miranda Hart took her eyes away from James Blunt and his battering ram antics long enough to see that Hannah Fry changed her personsality overnight after being made a Traitor.
Comedian Miranda found herself rather taken with the way former army captain Blunt took charge in the latest mission. "I liked it very much. I found it very erotic, I won't lie," she confessed.
Thankfully, she pulled herself together enough to clock that her castle bestie Hannah was a nervous, anxious wreck on the day she should have been in a state of relief after not being murdered.
As her suspicions grew, the episode ended with Miranda saying she was totally certain the professor had been recruited. All that remains is being able to convince enough of the Faithfuls of her theory tonight.
The game finally begins
After a rocky start, Maya Jama and James Acaster have shown the first signs they've got what it takes to wear those iconic green capes.
Mirror TV editor Nicola Methven says the transformation was complete at the very first round table.
Maya was delighted that she’d had the nerve to vote Richard E. Grant out, having previously promised to do everything in her power to keep him in the game. “I did what I could but it was too late, the damage was done,” she shrugged (quite hard in that furry number). “I had to throw my honey under the bus. Richard, you messed it up - but you didn’t take me with you! I’ll see you on the outside my love.”
Hannah Fried
Hannah Fry has revealed exactly how stressful she found her new role as recruited Traitor.
The professor was spotted wearing a white smart ring during Thursday night's episode which provided some alarming insight into her first hours on the job.
Sharing an image of her results, Hannah revealed she was at peak stress for two hours and thirty minutes - with the graph reaching at peak during the second round table.
Is recruiting Hannah Fry another fatal Traitor error?
With Richard E. Grant out the game, Maya Jama and James Acaster were handed a lifeline with the offer of recruiting another Traitor to their team.
But did they make another terrible mistake with their pick? Mirror TV editor Nicola Methven seems to think so.
Nicola said:
I’d love to know just how long it took Professor Hannah Fry to accept the offer of joining The Traitors. “I don’t know what to do!” she declared several times as she worked out that there wouldn’t be a murder. Hannah knew this would look incredibly suspicious for her and fellow player Jerry Hall - as the only two not protected from being killed. But if she turned The Traitors down, would she be brown bread anyway? Probably.
As the ultimate over-thinker, Hannah no doubt had to consult a great many spreadsheets before deducing that the probability of being able to carry it off was actually pretty high. The advantage of coming in as a recruited Traitor is that you’ve had time to be authentically convincing as a Faithful. She still found it pretty stressful though, which is understandable.
'It's like the Sugababes'
After seducing Hannah to join them in the turret, the new trio of traitors discussed how to approach the round table the following morning.
Acaster delivered the great line: "It's changing a lot, this Traitors," he said of the line-up.
"It's like the Sugababes."
Hannah Fry steps up to the plate
After Grant’s banishment, Acaster and Jama recruited mathematician Hannah Fry to be a traitor.
After seeing her fellow traitors for the first time, she said: “I was sure you were faithfuls, you absolute legends.
“Oh, it’s going to be so fun!”
Miranda suspicious of Richard before 'slip-up'
Grant also acknowledged that actress Miranda Hart had been suspicious of him even before the slip-up.
He said: “The roundtable bit, by the time Claudia has walked round four times, you think by that point, there’s no chance now.
“When she tapped me on the shoulder, I thought ‘Don’t show any emotion whatsoever and you try your best not to.’
“Of course, Miranda Hart, sitting right next to me, I think she said she could immediately feel the vibrations of joy coming out.”
Richard speaks about the betrayal at the roundtable
At the latest roundtable, both of Grant’s fellow traitors voted to banish him.
Speaking on spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, Grant said: “I thought Maya would definitely stab me because I put her in an untenable position so I perfectly understood.
“I was so convinced by James Acaster’s determination not to kill me off when he gave his big plea in the church after Amol, I naively thought, ‘Oh well, maybe James, because he’s so trustworthy, he would come through for me.’
“Not one word came out of James’s mouth to support me.”
Richard accepted his fate
Richard fully accepted that he was the architect of his own downfall. “It was a completely catastrophically idiotic thing to do! I can only imagine the faces of the producers looking at each other and mouthing ‘he said WHAT?!’”
He added: "I have managed to checkmate myself which as far as I’m aware has never been done.” And while he’d had a blast during his two days of filming, he did worry: “My daughter is going to be - ‘oh Dad’.”
Richard explains feelings at being made a traitor
After making history by becoming the first traitor to be first banished, Richard explained his thoughts as he was chosen by Claudia.
"It was only on the fourth round of Claudia walking around that I was finally rewarded,” he sighed. “I'd heard such panic breathing from Miranda Hart on my right-hand side, coughing from Jerry Hall on my left. Between these two respiratory ladies, I nearly gave up hope.
“I'd watched every iteration that I possibly could have of this game and I was manifesting, willing myself to get invited to be a Traitor so receiving that well, I lost all sense of self control.”
Who was the second person to be banished?
Myha'la became the latest contestant banished from Celebrity Traitors during epsiode three. She was mistakenly targeted by her fellow contestants - but also had no clue who were the actual traitors.
Viewers slam 'hideous decisions'
The traitors aren't going down too well in some quarters, with some online users calling Maya, James and Hannah out for their 'hideous' decisions.
The game might be early, but they might have to rethink their plans to get to the end!

Myha'la explains the wink
She said: "That wink was honest to God, outside of the game. That was just for Richard It was like a kindred spirit. Like, I see you, this has been really fun... I'll see you on the other side.
"I don't know if you got it. But it was just for him."
'Horrible, ridiculous, grateful, p**sed'
Myha'la isn't happy with being banished! She admitted her traitor choices - five wrong!
Her faithful choice started with Maya. She's not very good at this, is she?
Finding out who the traitors are, Myha'la said she felt "sick" and then looked gobsmacked as she found out James A was a traitor. "Bless him, I hope he wins! Heck yeah he's doing a good job."
Hannah's reveal saw her say "duh," whie Maya left her speechless! "Am I gonna cry? I can't breathe. Oh. My. God."
What's in it for Hannah?
Frankie isn't too sure the traitors recruited Hannah with good intentions. Will she be right? Will Maya and James throw her under the bus to save herself?
Ed Gamble says Julie or Bella would have been a more sensible choice.
Richard E Grant admits 'I gave it to them on a platter'
Richard - who is convinced his fellow Traitors Maya and James will go on to triumph - enjoyed making his dramatic exit speech.
“I said, ‘It's been my dream manifested to be chosen as a Traitor’. And then I said, ‘I am an unfaithful Traitor,’ to an instant unanimous standing ovation. It was a double-edged sword of the joy of being released and the humiliation of them being so glee-filled that they got one so early in the game. I gave it to them on a platter.”
Richard compares himself to Joseph Stalin
He's made history - and says Stalin did too!
Richard opens up on Uncloaked, admitting he had no tactic, but had a great birthday presentin becoming a traitor.
And there's the cliffhanger!
The worst part of the show... the end!
What are the traitors going to do now? "Let's create some chaos," they say. But I guess we'll have to find out tomorrow who's gone!
Who goes....
James Acaster is gunning for James Blunt, simply because of his name! Bash is offered up too, while Maya questions if Bella should go.
Who are they going to choose?
Is James Blunt wanting to say Goodbye my Faithful?
Oh, James. That theory named NONE of the traitors! Miranda is barking up the right tree though and has eyes on Hannah.
Hannah's surely in trouble?
Hannah's staunch defence must surely put her under scrutiny now. She went in hard on Myha'la!
The celebs have spoken
It's the end of the game for Myha'la. The faithfuls have lost one of their own. She's banished!
"I have loved getting to know you all. Thank you for loving me. I will say to the faithfuls I don't think the traitors are as dumb as you think they are. I think they are a lot smarter."
And there's the sighs as she reveals she was indeed a faithful!
Now it's murder time!
The votes are coming
Here we go again. Who is going to get voted off?
Jerry is in the firing line and so is Myha'la. This is tense. It's a back and forth between the two (well, until Myha'la votes for Julie!)
The time for talk is over
Claudia calls time on the bickering. Whose time is up? It's not going to be quite as obvious as Richard's outgoing!
It's heating up
Myha'la is turning into Hannah. Here come the tears. Who is going to be the most convincing?
Heads will be scrambling.
Myha'la strikes first
Attack is the best form of defence, right? Myha'la makes the first move. She's desperately trying to showcase she's a faithful and just voted incorrectly.
Has she got Bella on side? She's certainly keen to back herself.
And Bella is now stopping short on showing her own hand despite saying she has her suspicions on two celebs.
Jerry's making a Hall lot of guesses
Jerry Hall has been sharing who she thinks has been recruited by he Traitors.
The problem is, she's throwing EVERY name out there. Hannah, Ross, James Blunt. You name them, Jerry's suspicious of them.
It didn't go unnoticed either, as Joanne and Miranda discussed her antics!
