Four 'murder' arrests in Stoke as teen found dead and another fights for his life Four people have been arrested as part of a murder investigation in Stoke after a teenager died last night - another teen remains in a critical condition in hospital Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was found dead in Stoke-on-Trent late last night. Staffordshire Police said officers called at 11.45pm to Brookhouse Road in Meir following reports of violence. A man in his late teens was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, while another teenager was taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical but stable condition, police said this morning. Officers attended the scene along with the West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance. The force announced four people were in custody this morning: a 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder; two 18-year-old men each arrested on suspicion of murder; and a 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder. All four are from Stoke-on-Trent. Detective Inspector Katie Gregory, who is the senior investigating officer in the case, said: “This is a devastating time for all those affected by what has happened overnight. “I'd like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk to them and we are doing all we can to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident. “I would urge anyone who was in the area at around 11.30pm yesterday, who hasn’t already spoken to us, to make contact with us as part of our investigation.” The force said a cordon remains in place at the scene this morning. Police want to speak to anyone who may have relevant information or footage. Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage is urged to call police on 101 or report online quoting incident number 1062 of 9 October.
