Log in A Dallas mother whose 3-year-old son has a terminal brain tumor is desperately trying to recover his life-saving medication after her purse was stolen from his wheelchair at the Texas State Fair. Kayla Price, a single mother, told Fox 4 that she briefly turned away from her son Devin’s wheelchair to check on her older son around 8 p.m. Tuesday. When she turned back, her purse that was hanging from the wheelchair was gone. It contained Devin’s nearly $2,000 medication, which helps prevent seizures, along with $1,500 in cash. Despite undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy, Devin, who still loves to smile, dance, and sing, was recently placed in hospice care. Price said Devin had been having a good day Tuesday, prompting the family’s trip to the State Fair. Now, she is left worrying about how to manage his condition without the medication. “The potential of my son having a seizure and me not having that medication … it sucks,” Price told the outlet. “I could lose everything because of someone’s careless act. It really hurts because I would do anything for my baby.” Prince said she has filed a police report with the Dallas Police Department. In the meantime: "I hope, I really wish you had it in your heart to return everything. You don't know the pain that you're causing me or my kids who you're hurting. Just give it all back,” she said through tears. Chris Bailey, who runs the Facebook page Everybody Loves Everybody, which is part of a viral positivity and community support movement, reportedly contacted Fox 4 to help Devin’s family and plans to donate $2,000 to replace the stolen medication. “When you see someone in need, do you say ‘I sure hope they get some help,’ or do you just help them?” Bailey wrote in a Thursday Facebook post after seeing the story about Devin. “You pray for the hungry, and then you feed them. This is how prayer works,’ he added, attributing the quote to Pope Francis. In July, Prince started a GoFundMe to help with Devin’s cancer journey expenses. The Independent has contacted the Dallas Police Department for comment.
