Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to make their first joint public appearance in the UK since returning from the US, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expected to visit Nottingham this week
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first joint public engagement since their return to the UK has been confirmed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to appear together in Nottingham this week .
This comes as the pair continue to position themselves under new titles as "public figures" rather than "private citizens," according to the Times.
The Sussexes are expected to visit CRS Nottingham to take part in an acting workshop, before joining the women of the Grenfell Hubb Community Kitchen at a local food bank. They are also anticipated to meet with Epic Partners, an organisation that supports young people through sport.
Since Harry and Meghan touched down in the UK a month ago, following six years living in the US, the couple have been embroiled in a very public row with Buckingham Palace over their royal status. Their children have also changed schools after concerns were raised by their security team regarding the school run.
It appears that they will avoid any awkward missed invites to Sandringham this Christmas, as a friend of the couple has told the Daily Mail that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex intend to spend the festive period at their multi-million-dollar home in Montecito, California.
The source claimed Harry and Meghan are trying to "keep their heads down between now and Christmas, when they will go back to California for the holidays".
The Sussexes unexpectedly relocated to the UK from California in late August. They stepped away from royal duties six years ago and remain non-working royals.
Harry spoke to Canadian network CTV, saying things are going "great" since the family's return to Britain on August 26. Speaking of Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, he said: "The kids are happy in school and it gives me a chance to really focus on Invictus in Birmingham."
"The games are in July next year."
Reflecting on his homecoming, Harry added: "It's been great. It's been great to be back on British soil. "It's great to be back on terra firma, actually!
