Tinks Walker, 17, has had her hopes of competing in the Olympics thrown into doubt after her beloved prizewinning horse was killed in a horror crash in Wiltshire
A prizewinning horse - previously ridden by a two-time Team GB gold medal winner - was killed in a horror crash that has thrown its teen equestrians Olympic dreams into doubt.
A car ploughed into Tinks Walker, 17, while on a country lane in the Cotswolds with her beloved elite showjumping horse Killossery Kaptain, known as Benny. The teen said her horse, thought to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, was fatally injured in the incident.
The heartbreaking crash has shattered the 17-year-old girl's hopes for being selected for Great Britain in next year's Eventing European Championships for Young Riders.

Tinks had taken her 10-year-old gelding out for a ride in the morning, on April 2, along with a two-year-old horse named Lily. The teenager told the police she allegedly saw a car "flying around the curve" in a country road around a mile from her home in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
The teen allegedly moved the horses onto a grass verge, according to the Daily Mail, and said: "I felt totally powerless and the next thing was I felt an impact. I woke up on the floor. It felt like I had been beaten up."
Tinks, in her account to Wiltshire Police, added: "I saw Benny lying on the floor. Benny did try and get up once - but struggled to do so and ultimately fell back down to the floor. He did not try and stand up again."
Benny had been a four-star competition horse and was ridden by Laura Collett, a Team GB two-time Olympic gold medal winner. The A-Level student trained with the horse each day and said Benny was her "best friend".
In a fundraiser set up by the teen, Tinks said: "He was the most wonderful, kind horse that I was looking forward to learning from as we went up the levels eventing together."
Tinks's mother, Netia Walker, told the Mail that Benny was "the Brad Pitt of horses to us". She said: "My daughter could have been killed, we have lost her best horse and have another one that is so traumatised we can't ride her on the roads."
Tink's furious family said they want justice after Wiltshire Police reportedly wrote to the teen five months after the incident. The force reportedly said "there is sufficient evidence to bring a prosecution against the alleged offending driver" but she had been offered a "safe and considerate driving course" to "re-educate" the driver.
The teenager's solicitor Cathryn Godfrey, of Irwin Mitchell, has started proceedings against the driver. Hannah Bradley, of Aria Grace Law, is suing on behalf of Benny's owners - one of which is Tink's grandmother - for the loss of a prizewinning horse said to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
A spokesman for the driver and her company, which owned the car, said they were "deeply saddened by the death of Benny". The statement said: "The incident was a terrible accident, and our team are extremely distressed by what occurred."
The teenager will be racing at Newbury, on November 5, to raise money for the the British Horse Society’s (BHS) Dead Slow road safety campaign.
In a JustGiving page, the teen wrote: "I am hoping to raise awareness of road safety and stop what happened to us happening to someone else. It was devastating and should not have happened." The Mirror has contacted Wiltshire Police for comment.
