Mary Millben alleges that billionaire George Soros is financially backing protests in India with the intention of undermining Prime Minister Modi's government American singer Mary Millben has alleged that billionaire George Soros is funding protests in India, reiterating her support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke. In a video message, Millben claimed that Soros and people associated with him were financing protests against conservative leaders across the world, urging young Indians to rally behind Modi and counter what she described as “chaos and destruction”.“The name is George Soros and that whole machine of people are constantly funding a lot of these protests and chaos that's breaking out across the world,” she said. The remarks follow Millben's October 14 post on X, in which she alleged that Dipke and the CJP were receiving funding from US-based donors opposed to Modi. She had also called on young Indians to organise a peaceful counter-movement against the protests, framing them as an attempt to create disruption in the country. Abhijeet Dipke had hit back at Millben on X, questioning the involvement of foreign nationals in India's domestic affairs. ‘We don't need outsiders interfering in our country's affairs,’ he said.Mary Millben further criticised Rahul Gandhi and Dipke, accusing them of creating disruption without offering solutions. Comparing the protests with movements in the United States, she cited the civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King Jr. as an example of peaceful mobilisation that brought legislative change.“Your voice should want to bring about change that unifies the country and that works with everyone to find the best solution for the people that you serve,” she said.Millben also urged Dipke to engage directly with the government rather than continue the protests, saying he should use his ability to mobilise people constructively. She argued that movements lacking clear objectives would eventually fade, while those delivering meaningful change would be remembered. She concluded by calling on young Indians to organise peaceful demonstrations in support of PM Modi, describing such mobilisation as a counter-movement based on patriotism, peace and unity.
