Every weekday, the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer holds a "Morning Meeting" livestream at 10:20 a.m. ET. Here's a recap of Friday's key moments. 1. Stocks are mixed Friday, with the rotation out of AI names and into defensives still ongoing. The sharp week-to-date losses in the tech-heavy Nasdaq and the weekly gains in the Dow tell the story. Club portfolio director Jeff Marks highlighted the financial sector as an industry benefiting from the market shift after a rough start earlier this week following earnings. Club banks Wells Fargo , Bank of New York , and Goldman Sachs are all positive for the week. Consumer staples names like Club holding Kimberly-Clark extended gains, after seeing one of its best days in years Thursday. We just put out a commentary on all the things going right for the consumer products giant and a major catalyst ahead. 2. Apple shares are modestly higher, tracking to eclipse Wednesday's record-high close, as preorders kicked off Friday for the company's highly anticipated iPhone Duo. Apple's first foldable iPhone will hit stores next on Oct. 23. Early indications suggest demand is already strong. Jeff pointed to delivery estimates pushing into early 2027 as an encouraging signal. “That is a very good sign, especially because these phones come with a very high price point,” Jeff said, referencing the Duo's starting price of $1,999. Jim Cramer has been bullish on the Duo since getting a first look at the device at Apple's flagship store in New York in September. “When I experimented with this two-sided seamless phone … I was blown away,” Jim said during Thursday's October Monthly Meeting , adding that he plans to get the Duo as a second phone. 3. Club name Capital One is set to report earnings Tuesday evening. Jeff said the key issue for the bank and credit card provider is how much it continues to invest in its business, as that spending has weighed on profits. "Investors typically don't want to hear about investment years. They want profit," Jeff said. "That is part of the reason why the stock has struggled this year," he added, referencing Capital One's over 16% year-to-date decline. Meta Platforms , also a portfolio name, reports its quarterly results after Wednesday's close. "We know the Muse personal AI agent has been a hit," Jeff said. "Now, I think the question is how much investment comes with that." The potential for increased spending was one reason we trimmed our Meta position to protect profits last month. The stock, which surged in the two weeks after the Muse launch on Sept. 8, has cooled off a bit recently. With the company expected to deploy tons of cash toward expanding Muse, investors will be closely watching its capital expenditure plans.
