Man charged with murder of Alisha Samuels, 26, in Manchester as police issue update
Alisha Samuels, 26, was found with fatal stab wounds in the Newton Heath area of Manchester after locals reported hearing a disturbance outside in the early hours
A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Alisha Samuels at a home in Manchester.
Alisha, also 26, died after she was found with fatal stab wounds in Newton Heath on Thursday.
Lawrence Johnson of Dorking Avenue, Manchester has now been charged with her murder and also the attempted murder of a man. Both incidents were allegedly in Dorking Avenue.
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant, of Greater Manchester Policer, said: "We are continuing to work on establishing the full circumstances of Alisha’s tragic death and to provide Alisha's family with some answers.
"We have now charged a man, but our investigation is not over. I'd like to thank those that have called and supported our investigation thus far, your reports are always taken seriously and prove vital to our work. I urge others who may have information, no matter how small, to please come forward."
Emergency services were called to Dorking Avenue at around 2am after neighbours reported hearing "screaming and shouting" outside.
Devastated friends have shared tributes to Alisha online. "How is this real life? How am I going to live without speaking to you every day with all of my problems?" Aimee Quinn wrote on Facebook. "I can’t believe I'm never going to hear your daft one liners or belly laugh with you again, nor more holidays and all the plans we had to travel the world together.
"You were more of a sister to me than a friend, a good listener and beautiful inside and out. I love you forever and a day my gorgeous girl."
Another pal wrote: "Oh Alisha, from the minute I met you, I knew you were special. I loved you from the start. You were one of the kindest, funniest people I’ve ever met and I’ll always be grateful I got to know you."
