Ruggable’s Washable Rugs Are Worth It and Now on Sale (2026)
Key Points
It’s a great time to buy a rug. The floors are getting cold, and you need to be prepared for your winter hibernation. Fall is also hosting season, which means making your place more presentable for the holidays.
It’s a great time to buy a rug. The floors are getting cold, and you need to be prepared for your winter hibernation. Fall is also hosting season, which means making your place more presentable for the holidays. Maybe you’ve moved, like many do this season, and are still furnishing your new space. Fortunately, home goods sales are plentiful this time of year.
Ruggable’s October Hosting Sale is one of my favorite excuses to redecorate, with up to 30 percent off select styles. It runs through October 25, so your window is closing as I type. Keep reading for more reasons I love Ruggable, plus a few of my favorites currently on sale.
For People Who Make Messes
I adore Ruggable. The entire WIRED Reviews team adores Ruggable. I have the Pamir Moroccan Flatwoven runner under my kitchen sink, and it's gorgeous, but I don’t panic when spills and stains happen. In fact, I welcome them. The beauty of a washable rug is that you can actually live on it, which feels almost radical when so much home decor seems designed for childless, pet-free people who never eat or drink.
WIRED editor Harry Rabinowitz has a toddler and a cat, both of whom have peed on his hallway rug. Both times, he was grateful he could toss it in the washing machine and dryer and move on. Commerce executive director Cooper Fleishman was debating between the Wendel Ochre Rug by Anthropologie, the bohemian Yara Navy & Bronze Rug, and the Berber-inspired Enya Multicolor Rug for his office. Reviewer Simon Hill has the Santiago Persian Tufted Rug in his home in Scotland (yes, they ship to the UK and Europe) and recommends the Mandalore Tufted Rug for any Star Wars fans out there.
Ruggable has thousands of designs to choose from—2,122 to date. It’s a blessing and a curse. The brand also regularly offers alternatives to discontinued styles, so all is not lost if you were eyeing a piece you can no longer find. Note that the sale does exclude the new Easy Care Wool collection, along with gift cards, spot cleaner, and rug pads. Read the terms and conditions before you buy, and don’t delay; the sale ends October 25.
Is Ruggable Worth It?
While we stan Ruggable, it’s not without its shortcomings. WIRED editor Kat Merck has the Jonathan Adler Venom Flatwoven Rug in her kitchen; the edges curl up, and it drives her nuts. I will say my Ruggable’s nonslip pad has betrayed me more than once. It shifts around the kitchen and is the occasional tripping hazard. Aligning a rug onto the pad is also two-person job, but it’s not impossible if you live alone. Customers online have also reported issues with prints fading over time, but that’s practically a given with high-traffic, machine-washable rugs.
We also like Revival, which has an assortment of hand-knotted and woven imported wool rugs at reasonable prices. Plus, the company is having its own 20-percent-off sitewide sale that ends on Sunday.
