Theo Gottshalk, 19, threatened to "chop" the arm of a fellow teen unless he handed over his phone during a terrifying robbery on Woolpack Lane, Nottingham, on September 9 last year. He then made off with the youngster's device, bracelet and chain, and laid low for two weeks before he was spotted on a Nottingham bus following a police manhunt.
When he was eventually tracked down, he refused to go quietly, and violently resisted police when he mounted a desperate escape attempt - forcing officers to give chase and eventually Taser him to the ground.

Nottinghamshire Police officers tracked Gottshalk to a McDonald's on Clumber Street and followed him into the premises, but bodycam footage showed him violently fighting back. During the desperate escape attempt on October 23, he tried to wrestle four police officers.
As he continues to struggle, the CCTV captures Gottshalk making a dash for the door, losing his shirt in the process before he is eventually downed by a policeman's Taser. As he tumbled to the ground, a three-foot-long machete fell from his trousers, a distinctive, red-handled weapon he had wielded when he robbed his teen victim two weeks earlier.
Police also recovered several deal bags worth of cannabis they said Gottshalk was carrying at the time. Detectives were later able to confirm that clothing seized from him matched CCTV footage taken of the September robbery, with the robber having since admitted to additional offences.
Gottshalk, now 20, admitted robbery, possessing a knife in a public place and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He also admitted two further robberies in Birmingham, one on September 25, 2023, and another on September 12, 2024.
Gottshalk also pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm after he was caught with a converted blank-firing pistol in Birmingham in November 2023. Appearing at Birmingham Crown Court on October 16, Gottshalk, of Forest Fields, Nottingham, was jailed for 13 years as part of an extended custodial sentence.
Detective Constable Ben Grayson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Theo Gottshalk is a callous and violent criminal who appears to think he can take what he wants when he wants from other people. He also thought nothing of putting lives at risk by carrying such a large and potentially lethal weapon in a public place. He was this point a danger to the wider public and I am pleased he has now been held to account."
