Arrow Vale High School in Redditch, Worcestershire, went into lockdown after reports of two parents 'behaving aggressively' while picking up their child
A secondary school in Worcestershire was forced to go into lockdown after two parents allegedly "behaved aggressively" while picking up their child.
West Mercia Police was called to Arrow Vale High School in Redditch on Thursday afternoon following reports that "two parents, who had attended to collect their child, were acting in an aggressive manner" on the school site.
A force spokesperson said: "On attendance, the situation was de-escalated and it was established that there was no harm or risk to any pupils or the wider community. We would like to address misinformation and confirm that no one was injured during the incident."
A spokesperson for Arrow Vale High School told The Redditch Advertiser that the school's lockdown procedures were triggered as a precaution "following a minor, isolated incident".
"No students or colleagues were at risk, and all on the school site remained safe throughout. The situation was swiftly and calmly resolved, with no further disruption to the school day," the spokesperson added.
The school said it worked closely with police, who provided a presence outside the school gates while the incident was dealt with.
"The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff is of the utmost importance, and we have robust procedures and policies in place to ensure a safe and calm environment for all," the spokesperson added.
