Expert says 'do not shop at Aldi and Lidl on these days' Cheap prices and a huge variety of products has seen both budget supermarkets become firm favourites in the UK A shopping expert has explained why he things there are certain days when you should not visit Lidl or Aldi. The two budget supermarkets have become hugely popular in the UK, with their low prices and huge selection proving a hit with Brits. Both are also famed for their middle aisles. Also known as the Aisle of Aldi or Specialbuys, as well as the Middle of Lidl or Aisle of Dreams, they see the supermarket dedicate an aisle to a constantly rotating selection of non-grocery products. But expert Jordon Cox, known as Couponkiduk on Instagram, said that there are certain days when it pays to shop at either Lidl or Aldi - and days when it does not. In a video titled worst days to shop at Aldi and Lidl, he explained everything. He said: "Do not shop at Aldi and Lidl on these days, but first, the best days: Thursdays and Sundays. Why? Because those are the days middle aisles are restocked with items. That means you should never shop on a Wednesday or Saturday because all the good stuff is likely gone." Going into more detail, he explained: "The best days to head shopping is either a Thursday or Sunday. That’s because the Middle of Lidl & Aldi Specialbuys are always launched on these days. "You’ll have first dibs at the best discounts and limited-time items if you go then. Some Specialbuys only have a few items of stock per store - so they fly! Which means… If you head in on a Wednesday or Saturday - forget it. Most of the good stuff is gone. Hopefully this helps you grab a bargain!" However, while plenty of people agreed with the logic, they did not necessarily want to shop on the days he mentioned. "Never go on a Saturday or Sunday. They are full of people. Ewwww," said one person. "I'll shop on Wednesday and Saturday when I'm trying to save money then," said another, while another said; "Yeah I’m going to avoid those days like the plague I enjoy having money in my bank account." One shopper said: "Not necessarily so. I’ve found when things sell out they often put more out days later!" One person claiming to work at Aldi said: "I work at Aldi and this is sometimes a good day to look as they get us to mark down left over specials on the last day to dirt cheap before they get signed off to charity... I got a parasol for 1.99 once .. sometimes worth a gander."
