'I nabbed £95 worth of beauty for £9 and discovered a delicious autumn scent' Beauty writer Lucy Addicott opened up the OK! Beauty Box and here's what she thought With the clocks going back this weekend and evenings drawing in, one way to brighten the darker days is by indulging in some self-care beauty moments. At this time of year, festive gift sets are a savvy way to save money on beauty products, but another cost-effective method is subscription boxes. OK! Beauty Box have a monthly set-up so those that have signed up can delight in a brand new selection of skincare, body care, makeup and more and, as it simply shows up at the door, members don't even need to leave the house. The first box is £8.99 and then £15 thereafter, with shoppers able to pause, skip or cancel anytime. This month's box is a goodie and I got my hands on it to test drive the products and experience the OK! Beauty Box for myself. Featuring six sensory staples worth £95, I was instantly impressed that members are essentially saving £86 by subscribing. Upon opening the box, my eyes were first drawn to the Gatineau Ceramide Smoothing Cream (£26), as this is one of my favourite brands. I've tried several products from the luxury French skincare retailer, having received the Gantineau Advent Calendar last year, but the Ceramaide Smoothing Cream wasn't in my arsenal, yet. This product certainly ticks the box of a sensory staple - it smells amazing, as if stepping into a five star spa. Featuring best-sellers from Gatineau Paris, The Beauty Crop, Commodity and more. Formulated to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, while hydrating skin, it gave my dry complexion a much needed boost. It can be applied in the morning but as it doesn't contain SPF, I opt for using it in the evening. OK! Beauty Box have also launched an advent calendar for 2026. Curated by makeup artist Hannah Martin, the advent calendar is worth over £605, but retails for £109. Inside, there are products from the likes of Bobbi Brown, bareMinerals, Kosas, and Weleda. Cherry picking Ensuring my pout is as plump as my skin, another favourite from the box is the Disciple Ceraglide Lip Oil (£21). The rollerball applicator has a playful, nostalgic, feel, gliding cooly across the lips, and the formula itself is comforting and non-sticky. It contains cherry ceramides, which give it a lovely fruity scent, but I'm not overly keen on the packaging. The dark green and black bottle look a bit medicinal to me, and I'd prefer something a little more fun to match the product it houses. Seemingly on the cherry train, my next pick was The Beauty Crop's Oui Cherie Hydrating Gripping Makeup Primer (£10). I have to admit, using a makeup primer is often a step I miss out, but this product definitely changed how my makeup sits. The formula goes on red, which is a little alarming at first, but soon turns clear. Within a few minutes, makeup can be applied to the slightly tacky finish, making sure liquids and powders stay in place all day without feeling heavy. It's packed with cherry extract and hyaluronic acid, but doesn't smell like cherries - a feature I appreciated for my skincare. Perfect pamper Items four and five pair together, making the entire box for me, seamlessly working in union. The Gruum Eira Nourishing Face Oil (£17) can be applied with the pippette applicator after cleansing, and massaged into skin with the Glow On 5th Beauty Gua Sha (£16). It takes a little time to get used to the movement, but I found it a lovely way to unwind and pamper my skin before bed. The facial massage tool helps to contour the face and neck, flushing out lymphatic drainage and increasing blood flow and circulation. I didn't notice a contouring effect immediately, however, this may come with continuous use. My skin did feel brighter and more radiant, plus, the face oil left it lovely and smooth. There are some skincare brands offering the gua sha experience and skincare all in one product, such as the Anua Collagen Retinol Refining Gua Sha Cream (£20.80 at Boots). The rich cream is ideal for use with the gua sha applicator, providing a smooth glide for facial massage while helping to leave skin feeling soft, hydrated and nourished. Scent-sational Last, but certainly not least, this OK! Beauty Box includes a luxury sample size (worth £5), of the Commodity Fragrances Milk+ in the scent Space Bold. It has a warm and welcoming scent and, as someone who prefers woodier perfumes, it smelt delicious to me. The rich, sweet and smoky scent might not be to everyone's taste, for example those that prefer light and fresh fragrances, but it's an excellent addition to an autumn and winter perfume collection, in my opinion. If shoppers were to get a full size bottle, it would set them back £145, so this is a smart way to try it out before fully committing. What's inside the OK!
