Yes, you read that right. He rode to his local Maccies to see what the reaction would be and whether staff would actually serve him his food.
But even he was surprised by the staff's heartwarming reaction, as they fawned over Nick Holden's gorgeous black and white pony Sparky as he stuck his head through the Drive-Thru window, potentially attempting to pinch some treats.

Did Nick get served on his horse at the Drive-Thru?
In a video posted on Instagram, Nick can be seen on horseback approaching the Drive-Thru, saying: "Let's see if this works." There was no one around when he approached the area where staff take your order, so he had to go to the first window instead.
Nick explained that when the staff came, "Sparky had quite the group of fans" and was "loving the attention" he was getting. The clip shows a group of staff fawning over the beautiful pony, with one saying: "Can I say hello?"
Staff even gave him a bag of apple slices, which Nick said Sparky "devoured". "We have got the goods! That worked," Nick gushed, as he carried his bag of food through the Drive-Thru and back home.
"Maccies is horse-friendly, I can confirm," he said. "And, we even got a little bag of apple slices," he explained as they rode home together. He even filmed himself feeding Sparky the fruit, which was adorable.
Nick took his horse Sparky out for a ride, captioning the video: "Find a more bomb proof pony than Sparky, he wasn’t phased by anything and the kind staff at the McDonald’s even gave him some apple slices for his trouble! He’s worth his weight in gold, and I think it’s a sign he wants to come out of retirement, so I need more ideas for adventures to take him on!"
In the comments, people shared how cute the video was, with one person writing: "Haha, love that you just casually jumped that tree with your McDonald's bag in your hand!"
"Omg this has totally made my day you legends," another penned. A third wrote: "Love that you stopped for your little picnic together on the way back and Sparky got his well-earned apple slices...fabulous."
What are the official rules about going to McDonald's on horseback?
It's worth noting that McDonald's does specify that you cannot go through drive-thrus on horseback. Officially, you cannot go through a McDonald's drive-thru on a horse according to corporate policy, though individual locations occasionally make exceptions.
McDonald's policy states that drive-thru lanes are custom-built strictly for motor cars, vans, trucks, mopeds, motorbikes, and road-worthy mobility scooters. Horses, horse-drawn vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians are often banned from drive-thru lanes due to health, safety, and operational rules.
However, some individual franchise managers or specific global locations may occasionally choose to serve riders on horseback or even hand out horse treats like carrots.
