King Charles throws himself into party mode and joins dancers at a colourful street festival in the Bahamas King Charles watched a loud Junakaroo party with fancy dress and floats roll past him for several minutes in Nassau - before getting involved and leading the parade down the street Charles today became a dancing King as he threw himself into party mode and joined the fun at a colourful street festival. The King watched a loud Junakaroo party with fancy dress and floats roll past him for several minutes in Nassau — before getting involved and leading the parade down the street. Flanked by acts with bright colourful headdresses, he shook traditional Bahamian hand bells as he entertained the crowd. The boisterous and energetic Junkanoo is a Bahamian traditional festival which has origins within slavery. The King got involved in the party spirit by dancing and waving cow bells to the deafening sounds of the local bands. Crowd of flag-waving locals crammed around Parliament Square for the festival — although protesters were also spotted waving signs demanding reparations. It came amid His Majesty's tour of the Carribbean, during which he also spent an hour with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), speaking to hundreds of service men, women and veterans, and paid his respects to fallen and inspected troops.
