Prince Harry and Meghan's popularity slides after moving back to Britain The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received a very low popularity rating according to a new YouGov survey, just weeks after settling into their new lives back in the UK Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been decimated in a newly conducted YouGov survey that tracks the popularity of the Royal Family. Every three months, the company asks the British public to share their thoughts on how they view the members of the Firm, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s favourability plummeting since they quit their royal roles in 2020. Now, just weeks after moving back to Britain, Meghan’s popularity rating is the lowest it has ever been according to YouGov. The survey, which was conducted on October 22-23, shows just 20 percent of the British public have a positive view of the Duchess. Additionally, 68 percent say they view her critically, while 11 percent were unsure. Given the rise in her unfavorability, these scores are the lowest Meghan has received on the royals popularity tracker to date. Harry was also dealt a blow in the latest poll, as 29 percent of Britons say they look favourably on the Duke, which shows a four point dip since the survey was run in July. The previous poll saw an uncharacteristic rise in Harry’s popularity among royal fans, as watchers seemed to approve of the prince’s reunion with his father King Charles in Highgrove, which took place just days before the survey was conducted. 60 percent of respondents have an unfavourable view towards the Duke, which is also up two percent from the previous poll. The damning popularity results for the Sussexes come just weeks after they moved back to Harry’s home country for an ‘extended stay’. Harry and Meghan, along with their children Archie and Lilibet, touched down in Birmingham in late August, and are believed to be residing in the Cotswolds. In the weeks after their arrival, Harry and Meghan undertook a day of engagements in Nottingham, which some royal watchers dubbed as a faux royal tour, with their away day taking them to several charities and organisations. According to the poll, the least popular member of the Royal Family is still Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who received a favourability rating of just four percent. A whopping 89 percent of respondents look upon the former prince critically, while seven percent were unsure. Topping the poll yet again as the favourite members of the Firm are the Prince and Princess of Wales, with William being the public’s favourite with a 74 percent approval rating. Kate was not far behind on the poll, with 72 percent of Britons looking at the princess in a positive light. Princess Anne, who has long been dubbed the hardest working member of the Royal Family, came in third place with a 68 percent favourable rating, while Edward and Sophie both received a 51 percent approval rating. King Charles was also dealt a blow in the poll, as he received an approval rating of just 58 percent, which is down 10 percent from the previous survey, and is the monarch’s lowest favourability score since ascending the throne.
