Trump threats war will be 'wrapped up soon' as he sends aircraft carrier to Middle East The US President has claimed that conflict will end shortly as he has sent another aircraft carried into the Middle East Donald Trump has claimed that the war will end soon as he sends another aircraft carrier into the Middle East. The US president made the cryptic claims as tensions have once again taken centre stage since the outbreak of war. The US Central Command confirmed that sending the third aircraft carrier into the Middle East marks the largest US naval surge in the region since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Trump also commented that the conflict will end shortly. He told Kansas City radio station: "It's going to get wrapped up soon. We need a guarantee there'll never be a nuclear weapon." His comments about the timeframe of war come as he cancelled several rallies this weekend, triggering questions about what is occurring behind the scenes as JD Vance also cancelled a Friday press briefing in Minnesota. No reason has been provided for the cancellation by officials. According to reports, a fresh wave of aggressive military strikes will target Iran if leaders refuse to sign an agreement. Trump has claimed since the outbreak of war in February that conflict will end soon, even as global economic damage continues to grow. He has continually reiterated this during campaign appearances for the US midterms. The USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit are due to arrive in the Middle East by late November, according to US officials. The strike group will operate alongside the USS George H.W. Bush, which was deployed in April, and the USS George Washington, which arrived in August to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln. The Wall Street Journal reports that Admiral Brad Cooper visited the White House on Thursday, alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to brief the president on potential strike scenarios. Plans to maintain the ongoing regional blockade were reportedly discussed in the meeting.
