India Large Caps Gain Favor Amid Global AI Selloff, Small-Cap Slump Good morning... I’m Alex Gabriel Simon in Mumbai, where large-cap stocks are lighting up investors’ screens as Diwali approaches. Sentiment has improved significantly after a strong October, when India’s stock market outperformed Asian peers and topped the global IPO league table. Large caps led the charge. The big question is whether those gains can be sustained amid the challenges that remain, as we write below in detail. ITC, Marico and Petronet LNG are among the companies reporting results today. Shares of Reliance Industries and Jio Platforms will be in focus after reporting strong earnings post-market Friday. Reliance’s profit beat analyst estimates, driven by robust margins from refining crude oil into fuels. Jio reported a 14% profit jump on the back of higher-paying users. Meanwhile, in a boost to government finances, India’s GST collections rose 23% from a year earlier to 2.31 trillion rupees in October, the second-highest level on record, according to official data released Sunday.
