HSBC customers 'get £50 payment' with new deal 'to take first step' The banking giant has launched a new service HSBC UK has made a new announcement and said customers who get involved will get £50 paid into their accounts. It said on Monday that it had introduced UK shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) via online banking and the HSBC UK mobile banking app. Customers can now trade UK shares and ETFs through their preferred digital channel, with full control to place, track, review and cancel market or limit orders, the banking giant said. Customers also have access to new tools and features, including investment watchlists, heatmaps and ETF screeners, corporate event notifications linked to portfolio holdings and even richer research and educational resources are now available on the app. HSBC £50 bonus HSBC confirmed: "To give customers even more value as they start their investment journey, HSBC UK has also launched an offer where customers who open an eligible investment account and deposit a minimum of £500 into it will receive £50. The introduction of shares and ETFs on mobile follows the launch of more than 300 funds last year and a simpler account-opening journey that enables customers to open an investment account via the app in five steps. "HSBC UK also launched the Wealth Select List last year, curated by expert analysts to simplify fund selection and help demystify investment decisions. HSBC UK customers can now access a suite of new features across digital channels." It said these included new tools and features such as watchlists to track investments, corporate event notifications, heatmaps and an ETF screener. It said there was also an improved digital experience with clearer, simpler journeys online and in the app. There are now new investments, covering UK shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), traded in British currency. Customers can place market or limit orders and track, cancel and review them, as well as use enhanced search and filtering, with "deeper insights". Investment gap Emma Tilt, head of digital wealth at HSBC UK, said: “We know there is an investment gap in the UK and we are continuing to expand our offering to help empower our customers to take their first step towards investing. “The launch of UK shares and ETFs is the next stage on our journey to develop a stand-out digital wealth offering for our customers, building on the wider choice of funds and simpler account-opening journey we introduced last year. "By bringing more investments, intuitive tools and richer insights together in our app and online banking, we are giving customers greater choice and control over how they invest, wherever they are on their journey.”
