Now, Police Scotland have issued a major update after a 10-day search Police Scotland has confimed a body has been found following a 10-day search for a dad who disappeared during Storm Boelo. Storm Boelo brought heavy rain and 80mph winds to Scotland earlier this month, leaving many communities damaged. During the bad weather Tom Allan, 63, was reported missing from Westmains Farm in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, on Friday, October 23. He was last seen by his family at around 8.15am that same day. For 10 days specialist units including the police helicopter, dive and marine unit, police dogs, and mountain rescue teams tirelessly searched for Mr Allan. In a desperate bid to find Mr Allan his family, including his daughter and niece, made heartfelt appeals to the public. Police Scotland have now confirmed that a body of a man was found in the Canderside Toll area of Stonehouse on Monday afternoon. Formal identification is yet to take place but Tom's family have been informed of the discovery. One week after his disappearance, a re-appeal was made by officers while Tom's family also shared their own appeals. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.15pm on Monday, 2 November, 2026, we received a report of the body of a man having been found in the Canderside Toll area of Stonehouse, Larkhall. "Formal identification has yet to take place, however the family of Tom Allan, aged 63, who was reported missing from the area, have been informed. The death is not believed to be suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
