A nurse with a drug habit is tempted by a gangster’s money in Tall Tales and Murder. Plus: an inside look at Burnham’s first 100 days. Here’s what to watch this evening
10.40pm, BBC One
This breezy Irish crime caper is directed by Chris Addison and stars the excellent Ella Lily Hyland as Bridget, a kindly nurse with a secret drug habit, a taste for folk horror stories and a willingness to dispatch suffering patients. When patient Grinner (Aidan Gillen) wakes from a coma and reveals himself to be a gangster with a hoard of buried treasure, Bridget spies an opportunity. Twisty fun with an edge of danger.
