A supermarket owner says he is a "very lucky man" after a car reversed through his store on Sunday afternoon. Marc Schirripa was checking stock at the supermarket in Adelaide's west when the car slammed through a wall, sending shelves flying in the aisle where he was standing. Police say a 31-year-old woman has been fined for reversing "further than necessary". A worker at a supermarket in Adelaide's western suburbs has had a narrow escape after a car reversed through the building. Emergency services were called to the Woodville IGA supermarket on Port Road about 1:30pm on Sunday. The store's owner Marc Schirripa told 891 ABC Adelaide he was checking stock when the car ploughed through the wall of the store, sending shelving and packages flying. "It felt like a big wave shooting up behind me, hitting me from behind, pushing me up against the shelves," Mr Schirripa said. "It was like a sonic boom just flashing behind me. "A car reversed through the wall quite fast, smashed into the wall and blew everything on top of me." CCTV from inside the store captured the moment of impact in the aisle that included snacks and confectionery. Mr Schirripa was examined by paramedics at the scene. Police said the driver, a 31-year-old woman, and her passenger were not injured. "She was a little bit shook up, and I'm OK," Mr Schirripa said. "I'm a very lucky man." Mr Schirripa said his family members were among those who rushed to see what caused the commotion. "My wife and my dad were actually quite scared. They heard the boom from the other side of the shop and came running over to see what it was," Mr Schirripa said. "It's going to take a couple of weeks to get repaired. "We've only been here a month open." The driver has been fined for "reversing further than necessary", SA Police said.
