"Detectives are not treating the incident as politically motivated," a Victoria Police statement said today. News of the assault emerged yesterday, with One Nation leaders alleging the attack was because the 60-year-old man had the party's signs displayed on his property. Police today clarified the victim had been assaulted with "a blunt weapon", not a baseball bat as originally reported. Since the incident, a 14-year-old boy and a 37-year-old man from Hampton Park have been taken into custody, with the man being charged with intentionally causing injury and other assault-related offences. The 14-year-old was issued with a caution. Loading
