An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Rome has been diverted to a military base in France after receiving a bomb alert.
The situation is being "monitored closely", the office for the French prime minister said following the diversion to the military base in Evreux.
Flight EIN40G was circling above France and landed in northern France at around 10 am local time (9am GMT). This comes just two days after seven flights across Europe received bomb alerts, leading to disruption.
The Airbus A320, which has capacity for 174 people, left Dublin Airport at 6.40am today and was scheduled to land at Rome Fiumicino at 10.35am local time (9.35am GMT). Shortly after entering French airspace, at around 8.45am local time (7.45am GMT), the aircraft sent out the 7700 squawk emergency code while flying at 37,000ft, according to flight data.
