Russell Brand's lawyer clashes with journalist and says 'I hope you're pleased with yourself' after guilty verdict Ian Winter KC confronted correspondent Rosamund Urwin outside the courtroom moments after Russell Brand was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault Russell Brand's lawyer launched an astonishing tirade against a journalist in the corridor outside court moments after the disgraced actor was found guilty of rape and sexual assault. The fiery exchange occurred just minutes after the disgraced actor was found guilty of raping a woman and sexually assaulting three others during his showbiz heyday. Ian Winter KC, who represented the 51-year-old at Southwark Crown Court, told Sunday Times chief news correspondent Rosamund Urwin: "I hope you're pleased with yourself," to which the journalist replied: "I'm pleased justice has been done". The lawyer then responded: "Well it wasn't... You f***** it," with the barrister then sarcastically adding: "Congratulations" before storming away. Urwin was part of a joint investigation by the Sunday Times and Channel 4's Dispatches into Brand, which prompted detectives to begin investigating the allegations. The revelations prompted four women to come forward to accuse Brand of criminal offences, while another two women came forward once Brand had been charged. The comedian and actor was told he faces a "significant" time behind bars after the conclusion of his trial. Brand's wife Laura Gallacher looked tearful and covered her mouth as he was sent straight to the cells, before she departed the court and made her way into a waiting car without her husband. He was found guilty of raping a 21-year-old fan after meeting her at a 2009 stand-up show at the Hammersmith Apollo, and was found guilty of sexually assaulting a Channel 4 worker during a forced massage in 2009. He was found not guilty of raping a woman he met at a cabaret show on the fringes of the 1999 Labour Party conference in Bournemouth. The jury also found him not guilty of trying to drag an MTV worker in to a toilet to indecently assault her in 2001. He has been found guilty of groping another MTV worker during a party at a Soho bar in 2004, but not guilty of going on to orally rape her in a toilet. Jurors found Brand guilty of sexually assaulting a Capital Radio worker after encountering her in a corridor in 2005. It can now be revealed that Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) lawyers are considering a police file of evidence containing claims that the celebrity attacked at least two more women. Detectives said today that the guilty verdicts could be a "watershed moment" and send a clear message that "no one is above the law". It comes as Brand was found guilty of one rape and three counts of sexual assault. Detectives suspect Brand could have many more victims after at least five other women previously claimed he had raped or abused them. The former comic is also being sued in the US where he has been publicly accused of raping one woman at his home in Los Angeles in July 2012, as well as sexually assaulting another woman in the Californian city. A third complainant, known only as Jane Doe, has launched a civil claim alleging Brand sexually assaulted her on the set of romantic comedy Arthur in 2011.
