Double killer serving life for two murders jailed for a further 22 years over string of sex attacks Former Royal Navy petty officer Allan Grimson - jailed for the brutal murders of Nicholas Wright, 18, and Sion Jenkins, 20 - was found guilty of convicted of sexually assaulting three young men in the Navy and one teenager A double killer nicknamed the "Frankenstein killer" has today been handed an extra 22 years in prison for a string of sex offences in the 1990s. Former Royal Navy petty officer Allan Grimson was jailed for life in 2001 after luring two young recruits back to his flat in Portsmouth then brutally murdering them when they spurned his advances. He first killed Nicholas Wright, 18, on December 12, 1997 - before murdering Sion Jenkins, 20, exactly 12 months later. The former petty officer is feared to have killed up to 20 people. He has also been named as the prime suspect in the disappearance of Simon Parkes – an 18-year-old Royal Navy sailor who was last seen in December 1986 in Gibraltar, where Grimson was stationed at the time. In July Grimson was convicted of sexually assaulting three young men in the Navy and one teenager around the same time as he killed Sion and Nicholas. He abused the victims in the same flat in Portsmouth where he murdered the pair. Today, at Winchester Crown Court, Grimson was jailed for a further 22 years. Grimson was also found guilty of 11 counts of indecent assault, one count of rape and one count of taking indecent photographs of a child. Winchester Crown Court heard he could have been released on parole while serving his life sentence - until he was charged with the historic offences. Grimson preyed on the victims between February 1994 and November 1999. He told police one of the men was “lucky to be alive”, before adding: “If you’re going to rape somebody, to get away with it, kill it.” One of his sex attack victims said he could only open up about the horror after Grimson was jailed in 2001 because he then felt “safe”. Grimson served in the Royal Navy and in 1999 he was a serving Petty Officer Marine Engineering Mechanic and an instructor at the Royal Navy Firefighting School in Horsea Island, Portsmouth. The prosecution said that this brought Grimson, a “big, powerful man” into contact with a lot of young men in their late teens. Grimson – known as the “Frankenstein” killer due to his 6ft 2in frame and large forehead – targeted sailors in the Royal Navy in the 1990s. He first targeted Nicholas, 18, who was bludgeoned with a baseball bat after he rejected Grimson’s sexual advances. Grimson sliced his ear off with a diving knife. Once Nicholas was too hurt to defend himself, Grimson slit his throat. The next day, Grimson wrapped his naked body up – telling police he’d felt a “tingling” sensation while doing so. He then dumped the naval rating’s mutilated body in a ditch. Exactly one year later, Grimson attacked and raped Sion in his house of horrors before tying him up and putting him in a bathtub. As the 20-year-old begged to go home, the killer beat him to death with a bat before dumping his body by the side of the A32. Grimson confessed to his crimes in excruciating detail – leading one expert to brand him the most dangerous psychopath of the 250 he had examined. He was jailed in 2001 at Winchester Crown Court for life with a minimum of 22 years. Sentencing him at the time, Mr Justice Cresswell told him: “You are a serial killer in nature if not in number. You are a highly dangerous serial killer who killed two young men in horrifying circumstances.”
