Enhanced road fuel monitoring report: June 2026 Impact of the conflict in the Middle East on UK road fuel prices, spreads and margins. Documents Details This document provides an update on the Competition and Market Authority’s (CMA) monitoring of UK road fuel prices, retail spreads and margins. In the report, we assess the impact of the conflict in the Middle East on fuel prices and margins in March and April 2026. We also analyse the differences in prices of retail petrol and diesel between different types of outlets, as well as the drivers of trends in prices and margins. We also set out next steps in our approach to monitoring. The report includes: - fuel margins for the supermarket and other fuel retailers, from January 2025 to April 2026 - average UK pump prices and their components from January 2022 to May 2026 - average UK pump prices and aggregate inventories for the 4 largest supermarkets from December 2025 to May 2026 The report relies on data we gathered using our powers under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
