Police have cordoned off Red Lion Street in Manchester city centre following reports of a 'mass brawl' on Monday night. Multiple police vehicles and ambulances responded to the incident, with at least one person taken away on a stretcher.
A cordon was established in Manchester city centre following reports of a 'mass brawl' this evening.
Numerous police vehicles and ambulances were spotted at the scene along Red Lion Street in response to the reported incident.
Several officers were observed carrying out investigations at the location. Greater Manchester Police are yet to release an official statement on the matter, though they have been approached for comment.
Video footage obtained by the Manchester Evening News appeared to capture a large crowd on the first floor of a nearby car park. Shouting could be heard as some individuals appeared to throw themselves at one another, while others were filmed fleeing the scene, reports the Manchester Evening News.
At least one person sustained injuries and was carried away from the area on a stretcher.
An eyewitness said: "There was a mass brawl at around 9.50pm at the nearby car park involving around 20 people. Now there's six police cars and two ambulances."
No further details have been confirmed. Photographs revealed several police vans lined up along Red Lion Street from Turner Street, with part of the road and the car park entrance also cordoned off.
Greater Manchester Police were approached for a statement.
