A practical methodology for $\Lambda$ global polarization extraction in fixed-target experiments

arXiv:2606.04441v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Non-central heavy-ion collisions generate large orbital angular momentum in the created medium, which leads to polarization of final-state particles via spin-orbit coupling, known as global spin polarization. The observation of significant global polarization of $\Lambda$ hyperon in heavy-ion collisions indicates that the quark-gluon plasma is the most vortical fluid known in nature. Exploring $\Lambda$ global polarization at lower energies is...

Differential Sensitivity of HSV-1 and PRV to IFN-{lambda} Reveals a Neuron-Specific Antiviral Role for RSAD2

Alpha herpesviruses (-HV) initially infect mucosal epithelial cells and subsequently establish lifelong latency in the peripheral nervous system (PNS). Herpes simplex virus-1 (HSV-1), a human pathogen persisting in the majority of the adult population, shares neuroinvasive properties with Pseudorabies virus (PRV), a swine -HV, commonly used as a model -HV. Utilizing primary peripheral neuronal cultures, we previously showed that IFN-{lambda} pre-treatment significantly reduced PRV yield.

{\lambda}Split: Self-Supervised Content-Aware Spectral Unmixing for Fluorescence Microscopy

arXiv:2603.23647v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: In fluorescence microscopy, spectral unmixing aims to recover individual fluorophore concentrations from spectral images that capture mixed fluorophore emissions. Since classical methods operate pixel-wise and rely on least-squares fitting, their performance degrades with increasingly overlapping emission spectra and higher levels of noise, suggesting that a data-driven approach that can learn and utilize a structural prior might lead to...

Demonstrating CBM Capabilities by $\Lambda$ Baryon Reconstruction in Ni+Ni Collisions with the mCBM Experiment at SIS18 of GSI/FAIR

Announce Type: new Abstract: The Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at the upcoming Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) is a high-rate fixed-target experiment designed to investigate nuclear matter at extreme baryon densities in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions. To enable high-statistics measurements of rare probes, CBM is designed to operate at event rates up to 10 MHz. This necessitates the development of fast and radiation-tolerant detectors, self-triggered...

Discovering Multiscale Deep Formulas in Complex Systems via Neural-Guided Lambda Calculus

arXiv:2606.07426v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: A fundamental problem in science is identifying underlying patterns of complex systems in the form of concise mathematical formulas. Current Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based methods have shown strong performance in single-scale systems, yet remain limited in identifying scale-specific formulas in multiscale complex systems. We present Deflex, an end-to-end AI method to automatically extract multiscale formulas with potentially different...

The Privacy Subsidy: Kyle's $\lambda$ under Noise-Perturbed Order-Flow Observation

arXiv:2605.15746v5 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Privacy-preserving cryptocurrency exchanges alter what the pricing mechanism observes about order flow. We derive the unique linear Kyle equilibrium when a committed Bayesian market maker observes order flow perturbed by independent Gaussian privacy noise. The price-impact coefficient and informed-trader strategy rescale by reciprocal factors of the privacy parameter (one down, one up), so their product is invariant.

Adjacency Spectral Radius Under Laplacian Sparsification: Deterministic and Probabilistic Bounds

arXiv:2606.07459v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Spielman-Srivastava spectral sparsification preserves Laplacian quadratic forms to within (1 +/- epsilon), but does not directly control the adjacency spectral radius lambda_1, which governs the NIMFA epidemic threshold and arises in spectral clustering. We prove |lambda_1(A_H) - lambda_1(A_G)| <= epsilon(2 Delta - lambda_1) deterministically, with a sharp epsilon*lambda_1 bound for reweighting sparsifiers via Perron-Frobenius monotonicity....

Row-Stochastic Matrices Can Provably Outperform Doubly Stochastic Matrices in Decentralized Learning

arXiv:2511.19513v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Decentralized learning often involves a weighted global loss with heterogeneous node weights $\lambda$. We revisit two natural strategies for incorporating these weights: (i) embedding them into the local losses to retain a uniform weight (and thus a doubly stochastic matrix), and (ii) keeping the original losses while employing a $\lambda$-induced row-stochastic matrix. Although prior work shows that both strategies target the same...

Global exponential stability for the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations on hyperbolic space

Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: We prove that the three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with the deformation Laplacian on hyperbolic 3-space $\HH^3$ admit a unique global mild solution for sufficiently small initial data in $L^3(\HH^3)$, and that this solution decays exponentially to zero. The exponential decay rate is $\mu\lambda_\Def^{(3)}$, where $\mu$ is the dynamic viscosity and $\lambda_\Def^{(3)} = 26/9$ is the effective spectral gap of the deformation...

Local relaxation and scale-dependent alignment in compressible, magnetized turbulence

arXiv:2504.15538v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Driven net- and no-net-flux MHD turbulence simulations up to $10,\!368^3$ reveal sign-mixed velocity-magnetic, velocity-vorticity, and magnetic-current aligned patches below the energy equipartition scale. The first two angles scale as $\lambda^{1/8}$ and $\lambda^{1/16}$, while magnetic-current alignment varies weakly with scale. We develop and test a constant-flux transport model for departures from relaxed states, which predicts both...
