SHAP-Guided Kernel Actor-Critic for Explainable Reinforcement Learning
arXiv:2512.05291v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Actor-critic (AC) methods are a cornerstone of reinforcement learning (RL) but offer limited interpretability. Current explainable RL methods seldom use state attributions to assist training. Rather, they treat all state features equally, thereby neglecting the heterogeneous impacts of individual state dimensions on the reward.
Merging model-based control with multi-agent reinforcement learning for multi-agent cooperative teaming strategies
arXiv:2606.06011v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: In this work, we propose a framework that combines multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) with model-based control to achieve safe, dynamically feasible actions in cooperative multi-agent tasks. Multi-agent reinforcement learning provides the advantage of learning cooperative policies for multi-agent teams from discrete non-differentiable rewards in a long planning horizon. Model-predictive control is robust and offers safe, dynamically...
Representation Learning Enables Scalable Multitask Deep Reinforcement Learning
Announce Type: new Abstract: Scaling reinforcement learning (RL) to diverse multitask settings remains a central challenge. While recent advances in model-based RL achieve strong performance, they rely on planning and complex training pipelines, making it unclear which components are essential for scalability. We revisit this question and argue that the primary driver of scalable multitask RL is not model-based control, but \emph{representation learning}.
