Coherence Maximization Improves Pluralistic Alignment

arXiv:2606.03110v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Aligning AI systems with diverse human values requires value specifications grounded in concrete examples, but generating such examples without extensive human supervision remains an open challenge. We investigate what makes these examples effective, using Internal Coherence Maximization (ICM) -- which infers labels by maximizing their mutual predictability -- to generate persona-specific examples that steer a model toward a target group's...

Geodesic Semantic Search: Cartographic Navigation of Citation Graphs with Learned Local Riemannian Maps

arXiv:2602.23665v5 Announce Type: replace Abstract: We present Geodesic Semantic Search (GSS), a retrieval system that learns node-specific Riemannian metrics on citation graphs to enable geometry-aware semantic search. Unlike standard embedding-based retrieval that relies on fixed Euclidean distances, \gss{} learns a low-rank metric tensor $\mL_i \in \R^{d \times r}$ at each node, inducing a local positive semi-definite metric $\mG_i = \mL_i \mL_i^\top + \eps \mI$.

Superintelligence: The Idea That Eats Smart People (2016)

This is the text version of a talk I gave on October 29, 2016, at Web Camp Zagreb [video] (45 mins) SuperintelligenceThe Idea That Eats Smart People | | | In 1945, as American physicists were preparing to test the atomic bomb, it occurred to someone to ask if such a test could set the atmosphere on fire. This was a legitimate concern.

SANA-Streaming: Real-time Streaming Video Editing with Hybrid Diffusion Transformer

arXiv:2605.30409v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Real-time streaming video-to-video editing (V2V) is critical for interactive applications such as live broadcasting and gaming, yet it remains a formidable challenge due to the stringent requirements for temporal consistency and inference throughput. In this paper, we present SANA-Streaming, a system-algorithm co-designed framework for high-resolution, real-time streaming video editing on consumer GPUs, with the following three core designs:...

Seven Books That Will Change How You Listen to Music

Last February, I saw a concert that brought fresh meaning to the cliché “my soul left my body.” In a packed room at Radio City Music Hall, I sang the Swedish pop star Robyn’s hit “Dancing on My Own” along with her and the Talking Heads front man David Byrne, and genuinely felt as though I was floating outside of my own skin. If you’re lucky, you’ve experienced something similar, and know just as well as I do that the right song can unlock physical sensations that feel uncannily like magic.
