Anthropic Offers Mythos Upgrade for Cyber Partners and a ‘Safe’ Version for the Rest of You
Anthropic released two new AI models called Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 on Tuesday, which the company says have greater capabilities than the Mythos Preview model it released in April to a limited set of tech industry partners. Anthropic has said the initial, limited release stemmed from concerns that the model’s capabilities could be exploited by bad actors to develop hacking tools that could catch defenders off guard. Anthropic is currently only releasing Claude Mythos 5 to a...

Anthropic's open-source framework for AI-powered vulnerability discovery
A reference implementation for autonomous vulnerability discovery and remediation with Claude, based on our learnings from partnering with security teams at several organizations since launching Claude Mythos Preview. For a write up of these learnings along with best practices, see the accompanying blog post (also available in blog-post.md ). For a lightweight SDK-only walkthrough of the same recon → find → triage → report → patch loop, see the companion cookbook.

Anthropic’s Claude Mythos is at the heart of Project Glasswing.
Ernst & Young published cybersecurity report full of hallucinations
Earlier this year, an engineer at GPTZero coined the term “vibe citing” to describe the accidental creation of fake references via LLM hallucinations. It turns out that the friction of creating and checking citations is leading many researchers, consultants, lawyers, and public officials to embrace the vibe (if you know what we mean). Among the converts are the authors of a 2025 Ernst & Young report titled Points of Attack: Uncovering Cyber Threats and Fraud in Loyalty Systems.
UK banks offered access to OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 amid exclusion from Anthropic’s Glasswing expansion
UK banks are set to receive access to OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 Cyber after being excluded from Anthropic’s latest expansion of Project Glasswing. Project Glasswing, and access to the Mythos Preview model, is geared toward ensuring critical infrastructure providers are prepared to handle the threat posed by advanced AI models, once they inevitably make their way into the public domain, and therefore the hands of attackers. However, amid a fourfold expansion of Glasswing’s partners, only JPMorganChase...

Dems slam Trump for making cybersecurity hold out the tin cup while splurging on ballroom and Jan. 6 'slush fund'
Democratic lawmakers criticised President Trump's spending priorities, arguing that proposed funding for a White House ballroom and a January 6 'slush fund' overshadowed cuts to cybersecurity. They highlighted that the administration was simultaneously pushing for deep cuts to cybersecurity funding while reducing support for vital state and local threat-sharing services. These concerns were raised during a House Homeland Security subcommittee hearing regarding the reauthorization of the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program.
