Restoring Velocity Immunity via Dynamic Mirror Compensation in a Large-Area Dual-Atom-Interferometer Gyroscope
arXiv:2605.29929v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: We propose and demonstrate a dynamical mirror compensation scheme to restore velocity immunity in a large-area dual-atom-interferometer gyroscope. In an ideal Mach-Zehnder configuration, the phase shift is inherently immune to atomic velocity, but this property is broken by the Earth's rotation via the Coriolis effect. We overcome this by actively rotating the Raman mirrors during the pulse sequence to cancel the time-dependent angular offset.
Passive repetition-rate stabilization for a mode-locked fiber laser by electro-optic modulation
arXiv:2606.03207v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We report a passive stabilization of the repetition rate for a mode-locked fiber laser by using an electro-optic modulator in a phase-biased nonlinear amplifying loop mirror. The underlying mechanism, in contrast to active feedback operations, lies in the cross-phase modulation between electrical and optical pulses within an electro-optic crystal. The resulting spectral shift can automatically compensate the cavity-length drift via the group...
Future Power Rankings: How all 68 Power 4 college football teams stack up
Projecting a college football program's future is harder than ever. Rosters and fortunes change dramatically and championship pathways are more open than ever. The assets that make a program great in 2026 might not be there in 2027.
Passan's latest trade intel on all 30 MLB teams: B...
Major League Baseball's trade season is fast approaching, and the sport's cramped standings are providing little clarity on who's likeliest to end up where. There are too many contenders -- and too many teams whose dreams of contention remain -- to figure out how this deadline is likely to operate. At this time last year, remember, the Milwaukee Brewers, who wound up winning a major league-best 97 games, were barely above .500.
A plan to preserve wetlands without stopping development
A plan to preserve wetlands without stopping development Lisa Lock Scientific Editor Andrew Zinin Lead Editor Balancing economic growth and environmental protection is not easy. Consider wetlands, which provide flood protection, aid water quality, and are linchpins of larger ecosystems. How can we best preserve wetlands while enhancing economic activity?
