Why the under 4.5 through five innings is the play in Nationals-Giants with Foster Griffin facing Robbie Ray
I took a hit on my baseball plays last week. Part of the problem is that I've been too focused on hockey and basketball, and part of it was just bad luck. I did get some money back on my loss from last week as I took Christopher Sanchez last night to beat the Blue Jays on the run line.
Tatis hits 451-foot HR to end MLB-worst drought
WASHINGTON -- Fernando Tatis Jr. finally connected for his first home run of the season -- and it was a blast. Tatis slugged a 451-foot solo shot to left field in the fifth inning against Washington on Saturday, although the San Diego Padres went on to lose 9-4 to the Nationals. Tatis, who has five 20-homer seasons in his career and hit 42 in 2021, had not gone deep in 240 plate appearances before this game -- the longest drought in the major leagues.
Passan's latest trade intel on all 30 MLB teams: B...
Major League Baseball's trade season is fast approaching, and the sport's cramped standings are providing little clarity on who's likeliest to end up where. There are too many contenders -- and too many teams whose dreams of contention remain -- to figure out how this deadline is likely to operate. At this time last year, remember, the Milwaukee Brewers, who wound up winning a major league-best 97 games, were barely above .500.
Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr snaps home run drought with thunderous dinger: 'About f---ing time'
San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. is one of the most talented players in MLB and his home run drought was almost as incredible as his play on the field. Tatis probably doesn’t think so, but going 207 at-bats without a dinger, at his caliber, was something to behold. With every pitch he saw, fans never knew which throw could be launched into the seats.
Future Power Rankings: How all 68 Power 4 college football teams stack up
Projecting a college football program's future is harder than ever. Rosters and fortunes change dramatically and championship pathways are more open than ever. The assets that make a program great in 2026 might not be there in 2027.
Structural basis for chaperone-guided assembly of RNA-induced silencing complex
Abstract The RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), comprising an Argonaute (AGO) protein and a small RNA, is the central effector in RNA silencing. Small RNAs are loaded onto AGO as bulky duplexes in an HSP70- and HSP90-dependent process1,2,3, but the molecular mechanism remains poorly understood. Here we identify the human AGO–HSP90–p23 complex, which captures AGO in an RNA-free state, termed the AGO maturation complex (AMC).
