Karyotype evolution of angel insects (Zoraptera)
Our study provides the first comprehensive karyotype evolution analysis of the insect order Zoraptera. We present karyotypic descriptions of seven species across two families: Zorotypidae (Usazoros hubbardi and two Zorotypus spp.) and Spiralizoridae (Centrozoros gurneyi, Spiralizoros magnicaudelli, and two Spiralizorose spp.).

However, previous studies have shown that iPSC reprogramming and extended cell culture can introduce genomic structural variants (SVs). Technologies like karyotyping, CNV microarrays, and whole-genome sequencing have limitations in resolution, sensitivity, or the ability to detect large and complex structural variants compared to optical genome mapping (OGM).

Abstract Sirtuins are deacetylases implicated in stress responses and longevity in mammals1,2. Although their differential impact on disease for the two sexes has been noted3,4,5,6,7, the underlying reasons are unclear. Here, using Sirt7 as a model in mice, we examine the mechanisms leading to sex differences and find that Sirt7−/− female mice have decreased fitness throughout their lifespan.
