CLIF: Cross-layer LEO-ISL Fingerprinting for Physical and Network Attack Detection in Dense LEO Constellations
arXiv:2606.04901v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) mega-constellations such as Starlink by SpaceX and Kuiper by Amazon rely on optical Inter-Satellite Links (ISLs) for autonomous mesh routing to provide low-latency telecommunication, Internet of Things (IoT), and security services globally. As commercial operators and governments deploy increasingly dense constellations and form multi-operator peering coalitions, ISL integrity becomes critical to both commercial...
CLIF: Cross-layer LEO-ISL Fingerprinting for Physical and Network Attack Detection in Dense LEO Constellations
new Abstract: Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) mega-constellations such as Starlink by SpaceX and Kuiper by Amazon rely on optical Inter-Satellite Links (ISLs) for autonomous mesh routing to provide low-latency telecommunication, Internet of Things (IoT), and security services globally. As commercial operators and governments deploy increasingly dense constellations and form multi-operator peering coalitions, ISL integrity becomes critical to both commercial availability and national security. However,...
Amazon Leo's satellite homework is late, but FCC won't flunk it just yet
Amazon is set to miss its deadline to deploy half of its Leo satellite constellation by July 30, as required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The agency has, however, granted it a waiver of sorts – at the cost of priority status in spectrum licensing. The Bezos-founded behemoth got the go-ahead from the FCC for what was then known as Project Kuiper back in 2020.
Prospects for Astrobiology and Technosignature Searches with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time
arXiv:2606.00574v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: The Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) will map sources in multiband colour--variability space. We present a prototype coherence-based framework for astrobiology and technosignature searches, in which candidates are treated as structured departures from natural astrophysical manifolds rather than isolated photometric outliers. We illustrate the framework with three simulated cases: five Kuiper Belt Object (KBO)...

The Moons of Uranus May Hold the Key to Finding Missing Planets
We have an idea of what the solar system's past was like: It was violent and chaotic. However, we are still studying how violent it was. Current models suggest that at some point after their formation, the giant planets went through a phase of such extreme instability that one or even two bodies the size of Uranus or Neptune were ejected into interstellar space.
