However, LLM-based recommender systems often rely on parametric knowledge and suffer from outdated knowledge, motivating knowledge graph retrieval-augmented generation (KG-RAG) to ground recommendations on structured, up-to-date KGs. Despite this promise, effective KG-RAG in recommendations faces great challenges.
