Glass Box at Orbit: A Constitutional AI Verification Framework for Trustworthy Autonomous CubeSat Intelligence
arXiv:2606.02967v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: The space industry is quietly building toward something nobody has fully reckoned with: orbital data centers running thousands of autonomous AI workloads with no human in the loop, 550 km above the Earth. Microsoft, AWS, and a growing list of orbital computing ventures are moving cloud-scale processing off the ground and into orbit. What none of them have answered yet is the governance question -- when autonomous AI systems at orbital data...
SpaceX aims to launch orbital AI computing tests by end of next year, sources say
SpaceX aims to launch orbital AI computing tests by end of next year, sources say The orbital-compute effort is central to SpaceX's long-term growth pitch to investors, and the company claims in its IPO documents that it is "the only company with a commercially viable path to building orbital AI compute at scale". SpaceX executives say the company is aiming to launch initial demonstrations of space-based artificial intelligence computing infrastructure by late 2027, ahead of the "as early as...
Orbital Networks in the Three-Body Problem
Announce Type: cross Abstract: Orbital transfers in multi-body systems are often studied as isolated trajectory design problems, making it difficult to identify the larger transport structure connecting families of periodic orbits, including which families act as hubs, gateways, relays, or persistently difficult-to-access regions. This work introduces a reachable-set-based framework for constructing orbital networks in the circular restricted three-body problem. Finite-$\Delta V$ and...

SpaceX aims to launch orbital AI computing tests by end of next year, sources say NEW YORK, June 9 : SpaceX executives say the company is aiming to launch initial demonstrations of space-based artificial intelligence computing infrastructure by late 2027, ahead of the "as early as 2028" timeline for deployment disclosed in its IPO filing, according to two people who attended investor presentations held ahead of the offering. The orbital-compute effort is central to SpaceX's long-term growth...
NASA's MAVEN Mars orbiter is officially dead after months of radio silence
NASA's MAVEN Mars orbiter is officially dead after months of radio silence Au revoir, MAVEN, mon ami. NASA is saying goodbye to one of its most accomplished Mars orbiters. After months of repeated attempts to reestablish contact with the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) satellite, NASA has declared the Red Planet probe dead.
Switch 2 exclusive Orbitals arrives September 3
Switch 2 exclusive Orbitals arrives September 3 We've been excited for this for a while. Orbitals, the anime-inspired Switch 2 exclusive from publisher Kepler Interactive, will arrive on September 3, Nintendo announced today during its summer Direct presentation. We got our first good look at the game in February when it capped off the company's partner Direct.
2 giant 'super Earths' once orbited near Uranus and Neptune, messed up a bunch of moons, then vanished, new study hints
2 giant 'super Earths' once orbited near Uranus and Neptune, messed up a bunch of moons, then vanished, new study hints Our solar system may have hosted up to six giant planets in its first hundred million years, a new study suggests. The findings paint a more crowded picture of the early outer solar system than previously thought. Something doesn’t quite add up about the orbits of our solar system’s eight planets and their hundreds of moons, a new study hints.
NASA ends MAVEN mission after Mars orbiter falls silent
NASA ends MAVEN mission after Mars orbiter falls silent NASA said on Wednesday it will end its mission studying Mars' atmosphere and evolution after losing contact with its MAVEN spacecraft for six months. MAVEN, which entered Martian orbit in 2014, was designed for a one- to two-year mission but operated for more than a decade before falling silent in December 2025. NASA said Wednesday it will end its mission to study the atmosphere and evolution of Mars after its probe went silent for six...
On orbital stabilization of a circular motion primitive for a dynamic extension of the Dubins car model
arXiv:2606.07449v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: This paper addresses orbital stabilization of a circular motion primitive for a dynamic extension of the Dubins car model within a transverse-linearization framework. We show that the corresponding transverse linearization is unstable and not stabilizable by linear state feedback. Therefore, the standard linearization-based approach to orbital stabilization cannot be applied directly.
British Paralympian could be first astronaut with physical disability to live in orbit
John McFall prepares for mission to Haven-1 space station after UK Space Agency signs deal with US startup VastA British Paralympian and surgeon could become the first person with a physical disability to live in orbit after the government signed a deal with a US company that is building a small commercial space station. John McFall, a member of the European Space Agency (Esa) astronaut reserve, was cleared for activities in orbit last year and could take part in a mission to the Haven-1...
