CLASH: Evaluating Language Models on Judging High-Stakes Dilemmas from Multiple Perspectives

arXiv:2504.10823v4 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Navigating dilemmas involving conflicting values is challenging even for humans in high-stakes domains, let alone for AI, yet prior work has been limited to everyday scenarios. To close this gap, we introduce CLASH (Character perspective-based LLM Assessments in Situations with High-stakes), a meticulously curated dataset consisting of 345 high-impact dilemmas along with 3,795 individual perspectives of diverse values. CLASH enables the...

TruthSplit: Operationalizing Conditional Validity in Arguments Through Multi-Perspective Reasoning

arXiv:2606.09251v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We present TruthSplit, an interactive system for multi-perspective argument analysis. Existing argumentation tools typically analyze properties of the argument itself, such as structure, quality, stance, or persuasiveness, while leaving perspective-specific background knowledge implicit. TruthSplit addresses this gap by supporting an exploratory analysis of how the same claim can lead to different conclusions when interpreted through...

Perspective on a challenge: predicting the photochemistry of cyclobutanone

Announce Type: replace Abstract: This Perspective is part of a Special Topic that explored the maturity of nonadiabatic molecular dynamics for predicting photochemical processes. In 2023, a prediction challenge was issued to the community of computational photochemists to simulate the photochemistry of cyclobutanone, photoexcited at 200 nm, and the resulting time-resolved MeV-UED signal.

Perspective on Bias in Biomedical AI: Preventing Downstream Healthcare Disparities

Announce Type: replace Abstract: Healthcare disparities persist across socioeconomic boundaries, often attributed to unequal access to screening, diagnostics, and therapeutics. However, this perspective highlights that critical biases can emerge much earlier, during data collection and research prioritization, long before clinical implementation, particularly in studies focused on molecular and omics data. A vast number of studies focus on collecting omics data, but the demographic...

From Self to Other: Evaluating Demographic Perspective-Taking in LLM Hate Speech Annotation

arXiv:2606.06266v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Hate speech detection is inherently subjective: people from different demographic groups perceive the same content very differently. Collecting enough annotations from multiple demographic groups is costly and difficult to scale. Persona-conditioned Large Language Models (models prompted to adopt a specific demographic identity) have been proposed as a way to simulate diverse perspectives at scale.

When Does Multi-Agent Collaboration Help? An Entropy Perspective

Announce Type: cross Abstract: Multi-agent systems (MAS) have emerged as a prominent paradigm for leveraging large language models (LLMs) to tackle complex tasks. However, the mechanisms governing the effectiveness of MAS built upon publicly available LLMs, specifically the underlying rationales for their success or failure, remain largely unexplored. In this paper, we revisit MAS through the perspective of \textit{entropy}, considering both intra- and inter-agent dynamics by investigating...

DTCO of NOR-Type IGZO FeFETs for 3D Heterogeneous AI Memories: A Read-Centric Perspective

arXiv:2604.13624v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: InGaZnO (IGZO)-channel FeFETs have attracted notable interest thanks to recent advances in endurance, opening up their application space for read-dominated AI memory tiers. This work evaluates the viability of NOR-type IGZO FeFETs for 3D heterogeneous AI memories from a read-centric design-technology co-optimization (DTCO) perspective, spanning on-chip back-end-of-line (BEOL) RAMs and hybrid-bonded memory chiplets, and off-chip,...

Perspective of Fermi's golden rule and its generalizations in chemical physics

Announce Type: replace Abstract: This perspective provides a succinct history of Fermi's golden rule (FGR), overview of its derivation, assumptions, and representative forms. Major applications of FGR, mostly in the field of chemical physics, are reviewed. These illustrate the broad applicability and success of FGR.

Position: A Dynamical Systems Perspective is Needed to Advance Time Series Modeling

Announce Type: replace Abstract: Time series (TS) modeling has come a long way from early statistical, mainly linear, approaches to the current trend in TS foundation models. With a lot of hype and industrial demand in this field, it is not always clear how much progress there really is. To advance TS forecasting and analysis to the next level, here we argue that the field needs a dynamical systems (DS) perspective.

Why Muon Outperforms Adam: A Curvature Perspective

arXiv:2606.04662v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Muon improves training efficiency over Adam in large language-model training by about two times, but the local geometric source of this advantage remains unclear. Our work takes a first step toward demystifying Muon's superiority over Adam from a curvature perspective. First, we apply a second-order Taylor approximation to the training landscape and show that Muon achieves a larger one-step loss decrease than Adam at matched validation loss.
