Representing Hypergraphs by Point-Line Incidences
arXiv:2411.13985v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: We consider hypergraph visualizations that represent vertices as points in the plane and hyperedges as curves passing through the points of their incident vertices. Specifically, we consider several different variants of this problem by (a) restricting the curves to be lines or line segments, (b) allowing two curves to cross if they do not share an element, or not; and (c) allowing two curves to overlap or not. We show...
Procedural Generation of First Person Shooter Maps using Map-Elites
arXiv:2605.30570v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We investigate the application of MAP-Elites (a well-known quality diversity algorithm) to design levels for First-Person Shooter (FPS) games. We consider two well-known map representations (All-Black and Grid-Graph) and introduce two novel representations (Point-Line and Spatial-Layout) that improve the characterization of FPS maps.
Geometric construction of k-optimal locally repairable codes
Announce Type: new Abstract: A linear code is referred to as a locally repairable code (LRC) with locality r if any erased code symbol can be recovered by accessing at most r other code symbols. LRCs are highly desirable for distributed storage systems to enhance repair efficiency. In this paper, we investigate LRCs with disjoint repair sets via the parity-check matrix method.
